Cold Comfort - Marion Lindsey-Noble (Vol 3 in The Ant Murders Series)

Antonia Bell (Ant), retired Forensic Scientist, and her partner, retired DI Benjamin E. Cox (Bex) continue happily farming on Exmoor.  Llate one evening, they get an urgent call from Zac Weymouth, Bex’s successor at the MET in London. His wife’s grandmother Nora, who lives close to Ant’s farm, doesn’t answer the telephone as usual.

Ant and Bex go to check on the old lady that night and find disturbing signs of a break-in. Even more troubling is, when a few days later they are asked by Taunton Police to help with a spate of similar low level crimes which appear to be escalating into something much more sinister.
